You know what’s harder than buying trendy and fashionable clothes for yourself? Buying trendy and fashionable clothes for your husband!
Luckily I have a SUPER fashionable husband (Josh), which can be good and bad… Good: he knows what he likes and he literally always looks good (pressure on me, I know, right?). Bad: he can be verrrrry picky and it’s hard to find things he likes!
Last weekend we went shopping at Summit Fair in Lee’s Summit, MO, just off highways 470 and 50, and stocked up on a new summer wardrobe for him. We were able to get him a huge variety of clothes all in the same shopping center and all at a really good price!
QUICK SHOP OUR LOOKS:
Summit Fair has several shops with large men’s departments! To name a few:
- Jos. A Banks
- H&M
- Forever 21
- Macy’s

We picked out some clothes from Jos. A Banks, H&M, and Forever 21 to bring you some outfit options for all occasions! With that, I’ll let Josh take it away…
EVERYDAY CASUAL WEAR
QUICK SHOP THIS LOOK:
Think: running errands, getting lunch with the guys, exploring a new city! A pair of nice shorts and a polo will keep your man looking stylish while staying cool and comfortable.
Here’s what Josh says:
“I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect polo for years. This one [from H&M at Summit Fair] might just be it. Bonus: it’s only $12.99. I even bought another one online in a different color the very next day. The fit is perfect and the fabric has a surprising feel of quality that you wouldn’t expect from a $13 polo. I went with a size small.
And these shorts [also from H&M at Summit Fair] look good, fit well, and are super comfortable. Not to baggy and not too tight. Right in the sweet spot. The chambray gives them a slightly more formal look, but they can still easily be worn with a t-shirt for a more casual outfit. I went with my typical waist size: a 29.”
DATE NIGHT ATTIRE
QUICK SHOP THIS LOOK:
Josh highly recommends SSBDs for summer date nights. He says:
“For those who don’t know, SSBD means “Short-Sleeve Button-Down”. SSBDs are excellent for summers in KC when you still want to look good, but also let your arms breathe. It has a classy look that’s versatile enough to wear with jeans, chinos, or shorts. Pro-tip: Size down for a slimmer fit.”
The SSBD pictured above is from Forever 21 at Summit Fair. While the demographic at Forever 21 can seem a little younger than me and Josh at 26 and 28 years old, you can come away with a few steals at a low price-point, just like this SSBD! Josh is wearing a small here.
QUICK SHOP THIS LOOK:
I’m biased, but I think Josh looks great in blue! It’s my favorite color on him because it brings out his eyes. 🙂 I love the blue paired with khakis. It makes him look dressy without being uncomfortable or hot.

WORK, CHURCH, & WEDDING

Lastly, Josh and I stopped at Jos. A Banks for some dressier options for him to wear to work, church, and summer weddings! Here’s his glowing review of our finds:
“I’ll admit – I’ve never even shopped at JoS. A. Bank before. My brother loves their dress shirts and has repeatedly told me to check them out. I’m so glad I finally did. I’m very picky with the fit of a shirt. Being a smaller guy, I need a well-cut, slim-fit shirt to avoid looking like I’m wearing a tent. When I tried on this shirt, I felt like it had been tailored just for me. Aside from the excellent fit (The 1905 Collection has higher arm-holes and slimmer fit than even their traditional Slim Fit shirts), the quality of the shirt was extremely apparent. The fabric has just a hint of stretch to it and is hard to wrinkle as well. This was a solid purchase. I went with the 14.5″ collar.”
And there you have it! Men don’t have to be difficult to shop for after all! At least not with Summit Fair 🙂
