1-Month-Old Baby Must Haves (Flora’s and Mommy’s Top 10!)

We’ve made it one month with our baby girl!!! I only cried a few times this morning haha they grow up so fast.

I wanted to share the top 10 products (plus 2 bonus products for nursing mamas) that we have found helpful in our first month with a baby! Of course there are necessities you need like diapers and pajamas, but these are just 10 random items that we couldn’t have made it through without!

Be sure to join my Facebook group, Chloe’s Closet, to see all of my baby recommendations (as well as women’s fashion, home decor, beauty, and more)!

1. Fisher-Price Snugamonkey Cradle n Swing
If you have a baby that constantly wants to be snuggled and held, this Fisher-Price swing is a must! It was actually a hand-me-down from my brother’s baby. He didn’t think he’d use it but my mom got it for him anyway and they LOVED it. Then we didn’t think we’d use it but we also love it! Use it all the time for supervised naps!
2. Boppy Original Nursing Pillow
I went back and forth between the Boppy pillow and My Breast Friend pillow and ended up getting My Breast Friend. I took it with me to the hospital and hated it! While I was there I overnighted a Boppy and haven’t looked back since. I couldn’t breastfeed without it and Flora usually falls asleep on it and takes naps after nursing!
3. Mary Meyer WubbaNub
Flora may be a tad obsessed with “Ducky” lol! I had to order a backup in case anything ever happens to it. We have regular pacifiers but they don’t stay in her mouth. The weight of the duck keeps it in place much longer! Where Flora is, Ducky is.
4. Hello, Animals! Contrast Board Book
Flora LOVES this book!!! Babies can only see in black & white when they’re born and contrast pictures help develop their vision better. We show her the pictures during awake time every day for about 10 minutes and she stares at them in awe! I love knowing that it is helping her develop 🙂
5. Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes Musical Toy
I can’t take credit for this one! One of Josh’s friends gifted it to us and said his son would be entertained by it for hours. It’s true — when Flora is laying still but won’t sleep, I’ll lay this toy down in front of her. It lights up and plays music so she watches the lights. Plus as a former music major, my heart is happy hearing all the classical music songs!
6. The Styled Collection Baby Love Blanket
GET THIS BLANKET! You will not regret it! It’s a Barefoot Dreams dupe and it is sooo plush, soft, and cozy. We wrap Flora up in it for her daytime naps and I can honestly tell she is so cozy in it. Also great for after baths when she’s cold!
7. Baby Bum Brush
Whoever invented the Baby Bum Brush deserves an award! We apply diaper cream after every diaper change, and putting it on with your fingers is not only dirty but also gets under your fingernails which is annoying. The brush is so easy and convenient. It applies the diaper cream very smoothly and then cleans up with a wipe! We have one in every room of the house plus a travel size one for the diaper bag!
8. Baby Touch Night Light
Great for night-time feedings and diaper changes when you don’t want to wake up your spouse or wake the baby up too much! I actually used it in the hospital too!
9. Baby Bear Receiving Blanket Wrap
Every time I wrap Flora up in this, my heart bursts a little bit more. It is SO precious – the little legs are my favorite part! It’s really warm so we put her in it after bathtime and she falls right asleep in it! Scroll down to see the most adorable pic of her in it 🙂
10. Baby Trend Snap-N-Go Universal Infant Car Seat Carrier
We have a BOB jogger stroller which is pretty large and hefty, so I wanted something to take on errands. We leave this Snap-N-Go carrier in the trunk of our car and use it on every errand! Our Nuna car seat fits right down into it so she can continue to safely sleep while roaming the aisles of Target. I’ve already used it probably 10 times!

BONUS MUST-HAVES FOR NURSING MAMAS:

I have spent a lot of time (and money) finding good pads to wear in my bra while the baby isn’t nursing. Two items I highly recommend for any nursing mom are the Elvie Catch Cups and Blanqi Nursing Pads.

Elvie Catch Cups

The Elvie Catch Cups are flexible, silicone cups that fit right down into your bra and can collect and store up to 1 ounce of breast milk. I thought they’d be uncomfortable but I honestly don’t really notice them! It honestly shocks me every time I go to nurse and see how much milk I collected from just going about my normal day. Crazy to think that goes to waste without these cups! Before nursing, I pour the milk into these storage cups in the fridge and then at the end of the day dump into a freezer bag!

Blanqi Washable Nursing Pads

I went out on a limb with these because they’re brand new with no reviews, but I have been extremely happy with the Blanqi nursing pads! I have extremely sensitive skin and went through 3 different nursing pads before finding these. They can also hold up to 1 ounce of breast milk and they actually stay dry!! The milk just absorbs into the pad. I can wear them all day long and then wash overnight. I usually just wash in the sink but you can put them in the washing machine too.
